Small Business Computer Consulting and Outsourcing

Small businesses come across some tasks that they cannot do in house, and computer consulting is one of them.  Whenever there is a job function where the pace of change can be staggering and too much to follow (IT, tax law, online advertising, etc.) and the function is not a main focus of a specific small business, outsourcing will be necessary.

Is Outsourcing Expensive?

A lot of small business owners view outsourcing as expensive because they connect it to an hourly billing rate.  When small businesses outsource computer consulting services, they can pay about $75 – $100 per hour, depending upon the location and the skill set.  But small businesses have to look at both soft costs of hiring IT people in-house, ramp-up time and a lot of other unforeseen costs.

Interviewing for an Unfamiliar Outsourcing Project

If you are a small business owner looking to hire a computer consulting firm or another type of outsourced support source that may be unfamiliar to you, you have to take a lot of time to do research.  Make sure you are asking the right questions and getting to the heart of addressing your needs.
